Fleet Managers are being urged to take particular care when it comes to preparing their 2010 fleet strategies in the wake of a third successive interest rate rise and the upcoming vehicle industry holidays.
Adam Trevaskus, Director of Sales & Marketing at FleetPartners, said the RBA’s decision to raise official interest rates in December would have important flow-on effects for the whole fleet industry.

The most comprehensive review of the Australian and State government taxation system in 30 years is nearing completion. Of particular interest to fleet managers will be its findings in relation to Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT).
FleetPartners was one of a number of organisations to contribute to a joint submission by the Australian Fleet Lessors Association (AFLA) to the Australian Future Tax System, or Henry Review as it has been named after its chairman, Treasury Secretary Ken Henry.
AFLA raised a number of issues, the most relevant to fleet management being an improved method of calculating FBT using the statutory formula. The new system suggested by FleetPartners and AFLA could have economical benefits for businesses operating fleets as well as benefiting the environment by discouraging excessive mileage.

A unique program of knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer engagement developed exclusively by FleetPartners is gaining momentum with customers.
The program, known as Customer Advisory Boards (CABs), is designed to provide feedback to FleetPartners, give customers an opportunity to share knowledge with their peers, and create a forum for discussion of the big issues facing fleet managers.
Held every three months, the CABs are part of FleetPartners’ customer relationship management (CRM) model. They are the brainchild of FleetPartners’ Director of Sales & Marketing, Adam Trevaskus, whose experience with similar consultation sessions in Europe prompted him to try the idea in Australia.
