How we engage with our communities

Supporting the communities we live and work in is a priority at FleetPartners. In fact, community is one of our sustainability priorities. Here are some of the ways our people and organisation support vulnerable members of society.

Our sustainability efforts

We’re committed to driving leading environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities to create long-term value for our customers, communities and shareholders. A core part of this is our commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our 2022 Sustainability Report outlines how we’re contributing to the SDGs for the benefit of our community, as well as our FY22 achievements in this space.

ANZAC Day Commemorative video

On our national day of remembrance, FleetPartners Australia and New Zealand commemorate all members of our armed forces, both past and present, for their courage and sacrifice. While deeply important to all, ANZAC Day is particularly poignant to our team members with direct family connections. We hope to honour, remember and pay tribute to them through our ANZAC Day video. Lest we forget.

Team member volunteering and fundraising

One of the ways we support and engage with our community is through offering paid volunteering leave to all permanent and fixed term team members. Team members are encouraged to take one day of paid leave per year to volunteer with a community organisation of their choice. They can partake as an individual or as part of a team.

Outlined below are some of the charity and volunteering opportunities our team members have been involved in to support our communities.

Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA)

We proudly support the CPA and its STEPtember campaign. STEPtember challenges people to take 10,000 steps a day for 30 days during the month of September, while raising funds and awareness to help people living with cerebral palsy. Our team members are encouraged to take part in the challenge. In FY22, all funds raised by staff during the challenge were matched by FleetPartners dollar-for-dollar, raising over $56,000 in much-needed funds.

Burdekin Association

The Burdekin Association supports young people living in out-of-home care, helping them fulfil their potential. FleetPartners provided a dedicated learn-to-drive vehicle to the Burdekin Association. This vehicle delivers driving practice hours to young people living in out-of-home care who are without the family support required to complete driver training to secure their licence.

Story Factory

Story Factory is one of our long-standing community partners. Story Factory is a not-for-profit creative writing centre for young people in under-resourced communities across Sydney and NSW. It helps build writing skills, confidence, and creativity. We recently doubled our commitment to the Story Factory by providing two vehicles, making it possible for storytellers to deliver workshops to students most in need, irrespective of geographical location.

Anglicare Victoria

Anglicare Victoria provides lifesaving and life-changing programs to support children, young people and families in need. We’ve partnered with Anglicare Victoria for more than 12 years by volunteering and supporting Food Boost, Broadmeadows Women’s House, and the Dixon House Christmas distribution program.

Duffy Books

The Alan Duff Charitable Foundation, better known as ‘Duffy Books in Homes’ is a literacy program aimed at breaking the cycle of booklessness among children at low-decile schools throughout New Zealand. FleetPartners has been a proud supporter of ‘Duffy Books in Homes’ for more than 10 years, providing the Westpac Duffy Theatre team with a Mazda CX5. This vehicle is instrumental in the delivery of their education programs which instil the value of books and reading to school children across New Zealand.

Visionwest Waka Whakakitenga

FleetPartners New Zealand has proudly supported Visionwest for the past two years. We work together to help struggling families at Christmas through donations that help fill empty fridges and pantries and put gift toys in the hands of children who would otherwise miss out.

I.D. Know Yourself

I.D. Know Yourself is an Aboriginal-led mentoring service for First Nations children and youth living in the out-of-home care or foster system. Their programs provide opportunities for cultural reconnection and self-empowerment, to help break the cycle of intergenerational trauma. We proudly support I.D. Know Yourself with a vehicle, used by the team in the delivery of their incredibly important programs.
