Charging an electric vehicle (EV) needs to be as easy and convenient as pulling into a petrol station...because that's what your drivers know.
Planning your charging infrastructure is critical to the successful rollout and adoption of EVs across your fleet. That’s why we've partnered with JET Charge to offer a charging solution that provides convenience and reliability to your drivers and meets your business and fleet needs. This partnership deliveres the expertise and breadth of offering only available from the network that:
The similarities and concept of an EV ‘fuel card’, makes the transition for drivers easier to understand and more seamless.
Yes. You can charge an EV from a suitable GPO with the right adapter however, it would be very, very slow.
It depends. In many scenarios, the answer would be ‘no’ however, it does depend on the usage of the vehicle. For example:
We’ll work with you to determine an appropriate charging network to meet the needs of your fleet.
AC charges are ideal for locations where vehicles will be parked for longer periods of time, typically all day, overnight or at a minimum for greater than 2 hours. AC is an effective charging solution, although does take longer to charge a vehicle, as it relies on the vehicle’s onboard charging unit to convert the AC current to DC.
DC charges push up to 350kw of direct current into the vehicle and bypasses the onboard charging unit, meaning they can charge a vehicle faster. These are more suited to fleets where charging needs to be undertaken in under 2 hours.
Our experience suggests that in most scenarios, AC charges are installed.
Yes. AC charges are generally cheaper both for the initial charging unit and also for installation.
You don’t need to be concerned about selecting the ‘right’ combination of AC and DC charges for your fleet or trying to calculate the number you require. Working with charging experts, JetCharge, we input a number of variables such as:
to determine and recommend an appropriate short and long term, and cost-effective solution.
Yes. We have a well-documented and structured process to engage with building owners and managers to make the installation seamless and importantly, aligned to the delivery timeframes for your vehicles.
The process is:
This involves by all key parties: building manager/owner, your key site contacts, the fleet manager, representatives from FleetPartners and JET Charge. This meeting will be led by the JET Charge team and be conducted either in person or via Zoom.
This meeting would be again led by JET Charge and is designed to engage the building’s electrician, electrical engineer and building management. This meeting is held on-site and will discuss the requirements for any electrical upgrades e.g. running of cables; and, to identify and agree on the exact location for the installation of the charging units. Through experience, we always encourage the involvement of the building’s electrician however, if one is not available, we can provide a fully qualified electrical engineer.
This propsal is produced free-of-charge and provides details on what, how and when the installation will take place.
Once agreed, the installation commences with completion aligned to the delivery of your electric vehicles.
JET Charge will analyse energy usage data to determine how much power is available for EV charging.
In some specific cases, the usage of electricity at a site fluctuates dramatically and may influence the charging solution we recommend. To achieve an optimal outcome, we have an Energy Management System (EMS) that constantly measures available power on site and assigns it to EV charging. Installing an EMS can protect electrical infrastructure, optimise EV charging performance and reduce the overall costs of EV charging installations.
Working with the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC), JET CHARGE and ChargeFox, our ecosystem supports a comprehensive sustainability solution.
